The surrounding area still has plenty of greenery, but the site is relatively new and construction is beginning to build up.

The client requested that the house be somewhat closed off from the surrounding area so as not to be bothered by views from the neighbors, and that once inside the house, there be few partitions or corridors, creating an open layout.

As a plan to meet the above requirements, we started discussions with the client, thinking that a courtyard-type courthouse would meet their needs. The client had originally wanted a single-story house, but due to the size of the lot and the number of cars required, it was decided that a single-story house would not be able to accommodate everything. The second floor would be used as an attic and children's room, and the layout was arranged with rooms arranged around the main courtyard. In order to create a courtyard that is both visible and visible, we proposed to prepare a service yard on the west side, which would serve as a backyard, and use it for drying clothes, etc. We created an open, continuous space from the entrance to the living room with no partitions, and made it possible to access the courtyard from the entrance, resulting in an efficient layout with almost no corridors.

From the outside, the roof is sloped in a square shape to allow for an attic, and the buildings are positioned facing each other across the courtyard, giving the appearance of two houses standing side by side on a site that is long from north to south.
